The Manitoba Moose host the Milwaukee Admirals for a rematch of Friday's loss. The Admirals won 5-1 over the Moose, led by veteran forward Cal O'Reilly who picked up three points (2G, 1A). Wyatt Bongiovanni scored the lone Manitoba goal in the contest.
Today's game is the Teddy Bear Toss, presented by Booster Juice, in support of the Christmas Cheer Board. Fans are encouraged to bring new plush toys to throw on the ice in the first intermission. Forward Wyatt Bongiovanni scored the lone Moose goal Friday night. The tally came with the Moose on the penalty kill as Bongiovanni’s first AHL shorthanded marker. The Birmingham, Mich. product is the first Manitoba skater to record an even strength, power play, shorthanded and game-winning goal this season. Bongiovanni has goals in four of his past six games, and points in six of his past eight outings. The Quinnipiac alum has seven points (4G, 3A) during that span. Overall, Bongiovanni has 14 points (7G, 7A) in 19 games and ranks fifth in Moose scoring.
Flip the Script
The Moose have participated in nine two-game sets with the same opponent this season. Including Friday night’s loss to Milwaukee, the team’s record in the first game of those mini-series is 2-7-0-0. The Moose consistently turn things around in the second game, posting a flipped 7-2-0-0 record. Manitoba enters today’s contest four straight wins in the second game of a two-game set. During that streak, the Moose have outscored opposition 14-8. When the second game of the set falls on a Sunday, the Moose are 5-1-0-0.
Back at It
Defenceman Kyle Capobianco returned to the Moose lineup Friday after missing the previous two games due to injury. Capobianco helped set up Wyatt Bongiovanni’s shorthanded tally and has assists in two straight games played. The defender has five assists over his past four games, including a three-helper effort on Nov. 26 in a 3-2 win over Grand Rapids. Capobianco’s shorthanded assist was the first shorthanded point of Capobianco’s AHL career. The Mississauga, Ont. product leads Moose defenders with 17 points (4G, 13A) in 19 games and is tied for ninth among all AHL defenders in scoring.
Roster Moves
The Winnipeg Jets announced the team reassigned defenceman Dmitry Kuzmin from the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals to the Manitoba Moose. Manitoba also recalled defenceman Dawson Barteaux from the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads. Kuzmin has appeared in two contests for the Moose this season. The defenceman made his AHL debut on Dec. 8 in Calgary and recorded three shots in the contest. Kuzmin has also recorded two points (1G, 1A) in 11 ECHL games with Norfolk this season. Barteaux, 23, has 13 points (3G, 10A) in 15 games with the Steelheads this season and held an ECHL-leading plus-19 rating at the time of his recall. The Foxwarren, Man. product recorded five points (2G, 3A) in 57 career AHL contests with the Texas Stars.

Parker Ford recorded an assist on Friday against the Admirals. The forward has eight points (3G, 5A) through 21 contests. The winger, who signed a two-year, entry-level contract with Winnipeg in 2023, finds himself fourth in scoring among Moose rookies. Ford recorded the first shorthanded point of his AHL career on Friday.
