The Moose cruise into Iowa following a pair of wins on home ice against the Belleville Senators over the weekend. The victories give Manitoba wins in four of the past five games. Roster Moves
Netminder Arvid Holm was recalled by the Winnipeg Jets Dec. 20. Holm features a 7-3-2 record in 12 AHL appearances this season. The Ljungby, Sweden product has a 2.55 goals-against average and .923 save percentage on the campaign. In the five starts prior to his recall, Holm had a 4-1-0 record supported by a 1.93 goals-against average and .934 save percentage. Holm was then reassigned back to the Moose earlier today after backing up David Rittich in last night's 5-1 Jets win over Ottawa. The second move saw the Moose recall goaltender Evan Cormier from the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings. Cormier has suited up in 14 games for Kalamazoo this season. He holds a 5-8-1 record with a 3.00 goals-against average and .908 save percentage. Cormier has also recorded one shutout. The Bowmanville, Ont. native played 14 games for Manitoba in 2021-22 while recording an 8-3-3 mark with a 2.72 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. He also tallied one shutout on the campaign.
Piece of History
Jeff Malott’s overtime-winning goal on Sunday against Belleville was the forward’s 13th marker of the season and 50th of his AHL career. The tally also represented Malott’s fourth overtime winner during his time with Manitoba, which puts him in a three-way tie for most in franchise history alongside Seth Griffith and current Moose assistant coach Nolan Baumgartner. The Waterdown, Ont. product also ranks seventh in franchise history with 11 game-winning goals. Malott currently sits second on the Moose in scoring with 17 points (13G, 4A) and leads the squad with five markers on the power play.
First in Antlers
Ashton Sautner tallied two points (1G, 1A) in Manitoba’s win over Belleville on Sunday. The goal, which came 12 minutes into the first period, was Sautner’s first as a member of the Moose. The last goal the defenceman scored came on Apr. 9/22 against the San Diego Gulls when Sautner was a member of the Abbotsford Canucks. Sautner, who signed a one-year contract with the Winnipeg Jets in the summer, also recorded a helper on the overtime winner. The pair of points represents the defender’s first multi-point game of his time with Manitoba. Sautner, who suited up in his 300th AHL contest on Dec. 1/22, has tallied five points (1G, 4A) in 24 contests with Manitoba.
Polei Power
Evan Polei recorded a pair of helpers in Sunday’s victory. The forward, who signed a two-year contract with Manitoba in 2021, is up to seven points (3G, 4A) in 22 contests to go along with a plus-six rating. The Wetaskiwin, Alta. product is riding a two-game point streak and his two assists on Sunday represent his second multi-point outing the campaign. Polei has 69 points (31G, 38A) in 204 career AHL contests.

Simon Lundmark scored a goal in the second period of Manitoba’s overtime win on Sunday. The tally was the defenceman’s second of the season and gives Lundmark eight points (2G, 4A) over 24 games. Lundmark, the Winnipeg Jets 2019 second round pick, is fourth in points among Moose defenders. When Lundmark records a point, the Moose are 4-2-0-0.
