The Manitoba Moose wrap up the pre-holiday schedule against the Iowa Wild this evening. The Moose try for a fourth consecutive victory tonight when they take to the ice in Iowa. Manitoba scored a 5-3 victory over the Wild on Wednesday night, led by Cole Maier's three-point (2G, 1A) night. The Moose come into the contest having won five of the past six games, while Iowa has dropped four straight. Multi-Point Maier

Cole Maier tallied three points (2G, 1A) in Manitoba’s win over Iowa on Wednesday. The three-point outing represents the first career three-point contest of Maier’s career. Over his Moose career, Maier has tallied  15 multi-point games and sits with 78 points (39G, 39A) over the course of 178 games. The forward, who signed a two-year contract with Manitoba in 2021, sits with 11 points (6G, 5A) in 17 contests. He also currently sports a plus-seven rating. The pivot, who has four points over his past two games, sits sixth on the Moose in scoring and fourth among forwards.

Heating Up

Nicholas Jones tallied a helper in the Moose win over the Wild on Wednesday. Jones is riding a three-game assist streak, which represents his longest point-streak of the season. The forward has achieved a three-game point streak three times, in his career, with the latest time being from April 24/22 to April 30/22. That instance saw the forward tally six points (2G, 4A). The Edmonton, Alta. product has tallied seven points (2G, 5A) in 23 games this season and sits with a plus-six rating. Jones, who re-signed a two-year contract with Manitoba in 2022, is also the only Moose forward to register at least one shorthanded goal in each of the last three seasons.

Follow the Leader

Alex Limoges notched his team-leading 15th assist of the campaign in the third period of Manitoba’s most recent win. The winger paces the Moose and leads the antlered ones with 22 points (7G, 15A) in 22 contests. Limoges, who signed a one-year, entry-level contract with Winnipeg in 2022, entered the campaign with Manitoba without having a three-assist game. The forward now has two of those under his belt, with both resulting in Moose wins where Manitoba has scored five or more goals. Limoges has racked up five points (5A) over his last five games and is tied for the squad lead with three game-winning tallies.

Toni Time

Dominic Toninato recorded his second power play goal of the season on Wednesday night. The marker held up as the game-winning tally, which gives the pivot a pair through the eight Moose games. The forward has five points (3G, 2A) over his last five contests and sports a plus-two rating. Toninato, a fifth round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2012, currently stands as the only Moose skater this season to have tallied at least one power play, shorthanded and game-winning tally. Toninato has put together 58 points (32G, 26A) in 116 AHL contests split between San Antonio, Colorado, Springfield and Manitoba.

Ashton Sautner recorded an assist in Manitoba’s win over Iowa on Wednesday. The defenceman is currently in the midst of a two-game point streak that has seen him register three points (1G, 2A). Sautner, who signed a one-year contract with the Winnipeg Jets, is up to six points (1G, 5A) in 25 contests and sits sixth in points from the Moose blue line.
