The Manitoba Moose open their final weekend of action ahead of the AHL All-Star Classic with a matchup against the Milwaukee Admirals. It's the fifth meeting of the campaign between the two clubs and their first tilt since Dec. 3. The Moose are 2-1-0-1 against Milwaukee this season. Both squads come into the contest with matching 5-4-0-1 records their past 10 games. Coverage of tonight's 7 p.m. CT game on CJOB.com/sports, the Winnipeg Jets App and AHLTV begins at 6:45 p.m. CT.

Point Streakin’

Ville Heinola recorded two points (1G, 1A) in Manitoba’s shootout loss on Tuesday. The pair of points brings the defenceman up to 15 points (2G, 13A) in 17 games and extended the defender’s point streak to eight games. That mark ties Heinola for the 11th-longest run in the AHL this season, and tied for second-longest among defenders. In addition, Heinola’s tally was the first shorthanded goal of his AHL career and the fifth of the season for the squad. The multi-point outing was the fourth of the campaign for the defender, who is one shy of tying the career-high five that he registered last season.

Protector of the Pipes

Arvid Holm was called upon to make 43 saves in the Moose shootout loss on Tuesday in Rockford. The 43 stops is a new-career high for the goaltender, who’s previous high was 37 in an overtime win against the Rocket in Laval on Jan. 6/23. The Ljungby, Sweden product stopped 17 shots in the middle period, which is the third-most he’s saved in a single frame this season. Holm, who was drafted in the sixth round in 2017 by Winnipeg, stands with a 10-6-3 record to go along with a 2.88 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.

Road Trip Number Crunch

Tonight’s game marks the start of a back-to-back set between the Moose and Admirals. In the opening game of two straight, Manitoba owns a record of 5-6-1-1. When the antlered ones record a power play marker on the road, the team holds a record of 7-4-1-1. If Manitoba is able prevent the opposition from scoring on the power play, the record moves to 8-1-0-1. The Moose have scored three of their five shorthanded goals on the road, and is 2-0-0-1 in those games. When Manitoba scores four or five goals in a single road contest, the organization carries a combined 9-0-1-0 mark this season.

Daniel Score-gersson

Daniel Torgersson converted a first period power play goal in Manitoba’s contest on Tuesday. The tally was the Hono, Sweden product’s first career AHL power play marker. Torgersson, drafted in the second round in 2020 by Winnipeg, broke the double-digit point  on the goal and stands with 10 points (6G, 4A) in 39 contests. The forward has scored three goals over his past five contests and finds himself second among Moose rookies in scoring.

Who's Trending?

Tyler Boland racked up an assist in Manitoba’s shootout loss on Tuesday. The forward, who owns one power play and one game-winning goal on the campaign, currently has 12 points (5G, 7A) in 22 games this season. Boland led the Moose with a plus-three rating in January and finished the month tied for third in points.
