The Moose come to the end of a nine-game homestand tonight when they host the Belleville Senators. Manitoba comes into the contest 4-3-1 during the month-long stint at Canada Life Centre. Belleville grabbed the opener of the back-to-back set last night with a 4-3 shootout win despite the Moose outshooting the Senators 48-27. Tickets for tonight's 6 p.m. game are available at MooseHockey.com/TICKETS. Coverage of the contest gets going at 5:45 p.m. on CJOB.com/sports, AHLTV and the Manitoba Moose App. The game can also be heard on 680 CJOB starting at puck drop.

The Comforts of Home

The Moose have enjoyed an extended stay in Winnipeg, playing their previous road game one month ago on Feb. 12. Since then, Manitoba has played eight games at Canada Life Centre with tonight’s ninth game of the homestand representing the finale. The Moose are 4-3-0-1 on the extended stint in friendly territory. Forward Cole Maier paces the Moose with seven points (4G, 3A) in the eight games, recording a point in six of the eight contests. Overall, Manitoba is 18-6-0-2 in 26 games at home this season. Once again, Maier factors into the leading scorers. Maier (8G, 9A) and defenceman Declan Chisholm (6G, 11A) are tied for the overall team lead in points.

Nogier? More Like Nog-yay!

Nelson Nogier scored his third goal of the season in last night’s defeat. The tally marks a new career high for the defenceman who previously recorded two goals during the 2016-17 campaign. The Saskatoon, Sask. product scored the goal in his first game back in the lineup since Feb. 12 in Abbotsford. Nogier also recorded four shots on goal and was a plus-two in the contest. The Winnipeg Jets fourth round pick in 2014 has appeared in 240 career AHL games, all with the Manitoba Moose. He has 40 points (8G, 32A) in those outings.

Put it on the Mantle

Forward Nick Hutchison nabbed his first AHL goal yesterday evening. Hutchison opened the scoring 8:27 into the contest, finishing off a rebound in front of Mads Sogaard. The Hicksville, N.Y. product’s first tally comes 13 games into his career, and in his eighth turn with the Moose. Hutchison picked up his first AHL point with an assist on March 3 against Rockford, giving him two points (1G, 1A) in his past two games. The centreman joined Manitoba on a professional tryout from the Wheeling Nailers where he recorded 42 points (16G, 26A) in 31 games.

Milestone for Mikey

Forward Mikey Eyssimont skated in his 200th career game last night. Eyssimont recorded three shots on goal and a plus-one rating in the contest. The Littleton, Colo. native made his AHL debut back on March 31/18 with the Ontario Reign. In the first 200 games of his career, Eyssimont has 88 points (40G, 48A). The former L.A. Kings fifth round selection played 162 games with Ontario before signing with the Winnipeg Jets the past off-season. In 38 games with the Moose this season, Eyssimont has 22 points (9G, 13A).

Who's Trending?

Johnathan Kovacevic recorded an assist in Manitoba’s 4-3 shootout loss versus Belleville yesterday evening. The defenceman is currently on a three-game point streak while recording four points (1G, 3A) in that span. Kovacevic has registered 19 points (8G, 11A) in 41 games with the Moose this season which leaves him third among Manitoba defenders.
