The Moose continue their road swing tonight in Iowa looking to add to a seven-game point streak. The run is tied for Manitoba's longest streak of the season and continued with a 5-4 overtime loss in Abbotsford on Wednesday. This Bus Stops for Nothing
David Gustafsson continues to play a massive part in the Moose lineup. The Swedish forward recorded two points (1G, 1A) in Wednesday’s overtime loss against Abbotsford. The pivot has four points (2G, 2A) over his last five games played and is up to 22 points (11G, 11A) in 34 games this season. The 22 points are a new career high, while the 11 assists are currently one shy of the 12 he recorded last season with Manitoba. Gustafsson is also tied for second on the Moose with four power play markers. The Tingsryd, Sweden native was a second round pick, 60th overall, of the Jets in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
March Hot Streak
No player in the Moose lineup has been as hot a Johnathan Kovacevic over the month of March. The defenceman is currently riding a six-game point streak while recording nine points (2G, 7A) in that span. Kovacevic’s nine points are tied for third among AHL defenders in March. Kovacevic has registered 24 points (9G, 15A) over the course of 44 games this season. The goals, assists and points all represent new career highs for the defenceman, who also sports a sparkling plus-17 rating. The Grimsby, Ont. native also leads a very mobile Moose blueline in goal scoring this season. The nine goals from the blueline also rank Kovacevic in a three-way tie for fourth among AHL defenders.
Point Streakin’
After a challenging month of February, the Moose have responded with a much more successful March. The squad is currently riding a seven-game point streak with a record of (5-0-1-1). The streak started on Feb. 27 with a shootout win over the Central Division leading Chicago Wolves and has carried through March 16 and an overtime loss against the Abbotsford Canucks. Manitoba’s previous regulation loss came Feb. 26 against Chicago. The current seven-game point streak ties a season-high which was set between Jan. 2 and Jan. 15. Coincidentally, the previous mark was ended the last time the Moose faced the Wild in Iowa with a 4-3 loss.
Versatile Forward
C.J Suess has been a welcome addition back to the Moose forward group. Suess currently has 16 points (6G, 10A) in 29 games this season. He also currently features a plus-five rating, which is the highest of his career. The Forest Lake, Minn. product also appeared in a career-high three games with the Winnipeg Jets. Suess’ next time on the ice will be his 150th career AHL game. The forward has 71 points (37G, 34A) in his 149 AHL outings. Suess was a fifth round pick, 129th overall, by the Jets in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Declan Chisholm recorded a power play goal in Manitoba’s overtime loss on Wednesday. The defenceman has three points (1G, 2A) over his last three games played. Chisholm is now up to 25 points (8G, 17A) through 44 games and has set new career highs in all significant categories. The defender also owns two power play goals and one game-winner this season.
