Antlers and Wings
The Moose roster continues to see players move throughout the organization. Today, forward Jeff Malott earn a call to the Winnipeg Jets. Malott has recorded 28 points (18G, 10A) in 46 games and leads the Moose in goal scoring this campaign. The Burlington, Ont. has 48 points (32G, 16A) in 80 career AHL games. Yesterday, the Winnipeg Jets reassigned forward Kristian Vesalainen to the Moose. Vesalainen has recorded three points (2G, 1A) in 53 games with the Winnipeg Jets this season. The forward has also registered one goal in three games with the Moose. Finally, defenceman Dean Stewart was recalled from the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder. Stewart registered four points (1G, 3A) in 12 games with the Moose this season.
Swedish Sniper
Whenever the Moose clash with the Wild, you can count on one skater standing out. Simon Lundmark, who is in his rookie season in the AHL, has registered 10 points (3G, 7A) in 41 games. The kicker is that half of Lundmark’s points this season, two goals and three assists, have come against the Iowa Wild. The defenceman leads Manitoba in scoring against Iowa and scored the opening goal in yesterday evening’s 5-2 Moose win. Lundmark’s ranks sixth on the Moose blueline this season. He is the 20th player on the Manitoba roster to reach double-digits. His tally was the 39th goal recorded by Moose defenders on the campaign.
All Business
Bobby Lynch has been a solid contributor in his second AHL season. The forward has recorded 13 points (6G, 7A) in 29 games and has scored in consecutive contests for the first time this season. The goals, assists and points totals all represent a new career highs for the forward. The Grand Blanc, Mich. product is red-hot with eight points (4G, 4A) in his past 10 games. Lynch’s goal in yesterday’s game was first power play and game-winning goal of his AHL career.
Jones Knows
Nicholas Jones has had a productive season for the Moose. The forward netted his sixth goal of the season in yesterday’s victory and has registered 19 points (6G, 13A) in 43 games. Jones finds himself three goals away from tying his career high of nine, but matched his career high point total of 19 in the win. That previous mark was set back in the 2019-20 season when Jones was a member of Hartford Wolf Pack, but was achieved in 61 games.
