Staying Hot

Dominic Toninato scored the lone goal for the Moose in Sunday afternoon’s loss. The marker was Toninato’s 17th of the campaign and fifth on the power play, which are both career-high numbers. That gives the forward three points (1G, 2A) his past two games and eight points (6G, 2A) over his past 10. In addition, Toninato, who just appeared in his 150th AHL contest, is one point back of his previous career-high of 29, which he set in 57 games with the Colorado Eagles in 2018-19. The forward has 28 points (17G, 11A) in 42 contests.

Roster Moves

On Saturday the Winnipeg Jets signed Parker Ford to a two-year, entry-level contract. The forward also inked an amateur tryout contract with the Moose and joins the club for the remainder of the season. Ford recently wrapped his senior season with the Providence College Friars in Hockey East (NCAA) where he recorded 26 points (12G, 14A) and 22 penalty minutes in 37 games. The Wakefield, RI product captained the Friars in 2022-23 and led the team in both goals and points. Ford appeared in 131 games over his four seasons with Providence College and recorded 94 total points (41G, 53A).

Entering game 64 on the schedule, Manitoba has produced three skaters who have recorded 40-plus points. Alex Limoges, in his first season with Manitoba, leads the Moose with 50 points (19G, 31A) through 55 games. He’s the first Moose skater to hit the 50-point threshold since both Logan Shaw and Seth Griffith accomplished the feat in 2018-19. Joining Limoges with 40-plus points are Declan Chisholm with43 points (5G, 38A) and Jansen Harkins with 41 points (20G, 21A). Manitoba also sports a pair of players closing in, as Jeff Malott (20G, 18A) and Leon Gawanke (15G, 22A) sit with 38 and 37 points respectively. This past season saw the Moose have only two skaters crack 40 points, with Malott and Mikey Eyssimont achieving the feat.
