The Moose welcome their fans back to Canada Life Centre for the first time in almost 600 days tonight when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins. Manitoba hits the ice in downtown Winnipeg following a three-game road swing that saw the club post a 1-2-0-0 mark.

Tickets for tonight's game are available at MooseHockey.com/TICKETS. Arrive early for the 7 p.m. contest to take in player introductions, the new on-ice projection system and catch the Big City All-Stars band performing pre-game.

Coverage of the game on CJOB.com/sports, MooseHockey.com/LISTENLIVE and AHLTV.com begins at 6:45 p.m. CT.

Home Sweet Home

The Moose play their first home games of the season this weekend against the Grand Rapids Griffins. The club is 5-13-0-2 all-time in home openers in Winnipeg. In 2020-21 the Moose played their first home games of the season against the Toronto Marlies where they posted a (0-2-0-0) record. Due to the global pandemic, this will be the first home opener with fans in attendance since the 2019-20 season. As of Friday, it will have been 593 days since the Moose last played in front of their home fans.

Hit Em With the Four

Wednesday night David Gustafsson had himself a game. The native of Tingsryd, Sweden, had a hand in all four Moose goals in their loss to the Laval Rocket. Gustafsson ended the game with four points (1G, 4A) and four total shots. With the offensive outburst the forward now leads the Moose in scoring early on in the 2021-22 season. It was the first four-point outing of the forward’s career. The previous Moose four-point game went to Seth Griffith back on March 1, 2020. Griffith had recorded each of the previous three four-point games for the Moose.

Record-Setting Pace

Forward Mikey Eyssimont leads the team with three goals, scoring one in each game during the season-opening three game road swing. The Littleton, Col. native needs to score at least once in the next two games in order to tie Chris Herperger for the longest goal streak from the start of a Moose career. The latter scored goals in five consecutive games to start his Moose career back in 2003. Eyssimont is generating plenty of offence early in the season. He leads the Moose and the AHL in shots on goal with 17 in just three games.

Back in Antlers

Forward Cole Perfetti was assigned to the Moose on Oct. 20. The  forward  officially made his National Hockey League debut when the Winnipeg Jets faced the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 13/21. The Whitby, Ont. product played 9:49 of the contest. Perfetti was second on the Moose with 26 points (9G, 17A) in 32 games last season. Perfetti was named the CCM/AHL Rookie of the Month for April and finished his season by winning a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Championship.
